"You have to love a nation that celebrates its independence every July 4, not with a parade of guns, tanks and soldiers who file past the White House in a show of strength and muscle, but with family picnics where kids throw Frisbees, the potato salad gets iffy and the flies die of happiness. You may think you have overeaten, but it is patriotism."

This Independence Day use these special event ideas to bring life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness to...
Declare a break from high prices and send a special offer to your customers. In honor of the 56 signatures on the Declaration of Independence, make it a limited offer available to only the first 56 customers who sign up for it.
Prepare a Declaration of Codependence! Gather your employees in congress. Just as the Declaration of Independence lists the complaints the founding fathers had against the king, show your employees a list of complaints the company wants to overcome. Only list those complaints that employees can resolve if they just put their minds to it! For instance, if Sales is concerned about dropped customer calls, Administration can resolve to record customer’s information before transferring calls to Sales. Split the group into teams and have each tackle one of these complaints and give suggestions on how it can be overcome. Put all of these agreed upon solutions in a Declaration of Codependence, have every employee sign it indicating they are committed to moving forward with the solutions and hang it in the office. Follow up with a Codependence Day picnic!
At your Independence Day celebration give guests a Declarations game card. List famous quotes down one side of the card and jumble a list of the famous Americans who said them down the other side so the quotes and people don’t match up. In addition to the game card, give each guest a nametag listing one of the quotes on the game card and who said it. If guests can’t match every quote to the correct person by searching their memory, they can search other guest’s nametags instead! Once guests have connected their matches, they write their name on and turn in their game card. Place every card with correct matches into a prize drawing for a Fourth of July prize.
