Corporate Retreat Event - Imaginators (Inspired by American Investor)

After an entertaining speech on how to raise your creativity quotient, teams receive materials that they must use to create a prototype for a new product that will revolutionize their industry. Teams must put as much thought into their presentation as their invention, to wow the judges. Participants on the winning team receive venture capital – a cash prize for each participant! This is a great way to stimulate brainstorming at retreats.

Brainstorming Activities

At Wildly Different, we have a bunch of exercises to help you stimulate brainstorming. We have taken groups out on ideation field trips where they view what other industries are doing to stimulate comparison thinking. For instance, for one we went to Home Depot and asked participants to look at how they are helping (or not helping) their customer, how they are facilitating partnerships between manufacturers, displaying based on season, etc. From there, we went to Rain Forest Café to look at how they theme the restaurant. Then, onto the Parking Spot, an airport shuttle that gives you a paper as you get on the shuttle, gives you a bottle of water when your return, etc. to show customer service. Throughout the event we gave guests questions for thought. Then, we went back and teams brainstormed what they could do to tie in what they learned / observed to their business.
