Looking All Clover

"Many an opportunity is lost because a man is out looking for four-leaf clovers."
- Unknown

This St. Patrick’s Day, incorporate these fun activity ideas and it won’t only be Irish eyes that are smiling, so too will…

...Your Customers

Run a promotion in the days leading up to St. Patrick’s Day. Stamp a card each time a customer makes a purchase from you, or sends a referral your way. You might want to consider getting a custom stamp picturing one leaf of a clover. Once a customer collects four stamps, or four leaves of the clover, they get lucky and receive something special, such as a giveaway, entry into a prize drawing or discount off their purchase.

...Your Employees

Run a contest in the days leading up to St. Patrick’s Day. Post a list of things employees in different departments can do to earn some “green” for the company. Each time they do, place a four-leaf clover sticker by their name on a board posted in the office. For instance, each time a sales person sells a certain dollar amount, or an operations person fulfills a certain amount of on-time orders, they get a four-leaf clover sticker placed by their name. On St. Patrick’s Day, place a different amount of cash inside boxes of Lucky Charms cereal. Ensure you have one box for each employee who earned enough stickers in the contest. Reseal the boxes and place them on display. Invite each employee to come forward and select one box of cereal. Have all employees open their Lucky Charms at the same time to reveal who has won what dollar amount. Your company makes the green, but your employees will also be rolling in clover!

...Your Friends & Family

Cut the leaves off of pre-made four-leaf clover cutouts, or make the clover leaves out of green construction paper. Write a different “if” question on the front of each leaf. For instance, “If you could travel anywhere, where would it be?” Use double-sided tape to stick the four leaves back together to form a clover. As friends and family arrive at your St. Patrick’s Day party, hand each person one of these four-leaf clovers. Instruct guests to literally “pick” one leaf off of the clover of a different person as they meet. The guest they took the leaf from must share their answer to the “if” question. The game can simply be over once all guests’ leaves have been “picked.” Alternatively, ask guests to write their name on the back of each leaf. Once a leaf has been “picked” and the “if” question answered, that guest is eligible to drop their leaf into a prize drawing container. Later in the party, draw leaves out of this container. Ask the person whose name is on the leaf to share the answer to his or her “if” question with everyone and award a small prize to this person for sharing his or her answer.
